On the sixth morning of our Reunion Ride, we found ourselves leaving Cherokee, NC and riding through the Nantahala forest. We've been doing our best to stay cool while riding our bikes during one of the hottest weeks this area has endured, and these peek-a-boo glimpses of the Nantahala River looked very inviting.
NANTAHALA RIVER
While we were standing on the side of the road observing and listening to this beautiful river, we noticed a crowd coming down stream. Holy cow! They looked like they were having a good time... and they were wet and cool!
COOL RIDE
Believe me when I say... I wanted to jump in soooo badly! It looked like so much fun, and it was so hot! But alas, we mounted our iron steeds and continued on our own two wheeled adventure. Ridin' the river will have to wait for another day.
Have a great week everybody!

Today here is suppose to hit 106, not my kind of weather. I been leaving after the sun goes down to get some wind time. Myself I would have jumped in to stay cool. In this kind of heat I would be dry before I got back to the bike. Be safe and remember to hydrate.
Hot, but pretty.
What ever you do do not ride the river on your two wheeled steed. Me thinks it might sink.
Although in those high temps I can see how you might be tempted.
That is a cool place. We visited that area last year and took a 1/2 day river raft trip. The Nantahala is a great river.
A real river. Imagine that! Hardly any of those here in CA.
