PIC OF THE WEEK - MEEET "THE BOY"

I took my first really long ride on the Boy this weekend... 271 miles.  It was sooooo nice! I had a lot of very nice "feel good" moments while I enjoyed my reunion with the road.  Even though it's been a year since Harley and I shared our last ride together, it literally felt like yesterday.  I guess it's the same as riding your bicycle... you don't forget how.

So, without further ado... let me introduce you to "the boy"... my '04 Fat Boy.

BEFORE
Dirty Boy

 AFTER
The Boy... shined up like a new penny!
I changed out all of the leather trim, seat, and added bags. I'm having the windshield cut down to the proper height for me and I have one more piece of back fender trim I'm putting on.  Other than that, his grooming is pretty much complete.

I hope to put together a slide show of all my changes so you can see how different it really was. I'm still deciding if I'm going to do anything to the handlebars, but I think I will wait until I ride for a while to make that determination.

I'm just glad to be back on the road again... it was an awesome Saturday! Thank you God! Life is good!

Have a great week everybody!

Lady R

Dear Lady "R" (Diana):

What a beautiful hunk of Milwaukee Iron! The color is classic and the bags highly compliment the lines of the motorcycle. The evidence of your TLC is in the luster of the chrome. That is quite a seat: contoured and thick enough to kiss a rider's ass. And I love the dual air horns. (I could never get away with those.)

Have a great ride, Diana. My regards to your husband.

Fondest regards,
Jack/reep

Mr. M,

My mom asked me the same thing. While we were studying on names, we both laughed our butts off when I suggested something like... Stanley!

For now I'm just going to refer to him as "the boy". I'll wait an see if something better comes to me as I get to know him.

Dear Trobairitz,

My smile will be fixed for a while. We are taking off for a 7 day "Reunion Ride" (all by ourselves!) to cruise the Blue Ridge Parkway. I can't wait!

Ready to roll,
Lady R

Dear Mq01,

That lay down plate was one of the first things I changed. I thought the other one looked hideous! I can't wait to put my fender trim on... we just have to sit still long enough to finish a couple of details. My windshield is getting cut down and I should pick it up tomorrow. I'll need it for my trip. After riding 271 miles without one (even though I had a face shield on the helmet) I was pretty tired.

So... Yaaaaaaaayyy is right! It's so good to be back!

Still giddy,
Lady R

Dear Mr. Riepe,

Harley keeps trying to bribe me for those horns. I don't think I'll be giving them up. It sounds like a train horn! I told him, that's the only reason I bought that bike. lol!

Can't wait to show those deer on the Parkway, just how loud.

BTW... Harley says thanks, and hi.

Dear Wooley,

I still love my Jeep, but your right... it really wasn't cutting it. I couldn't figure out why Harley kept dragging his feet on purchasing a camper.

One day during a small disagreement, he confessed... "I guess I'm really wanting to ride again."

That was a month and a half ago... and here we are.

Glad to be back in the saddle,
Lady R

My dear KT,

Thank you so much! It's really a great feeling to have motorcycles back in my life. I feel like I've been rewarded for good behavior. lol! Isn't that weird?

I'm still looking for a belt to attach to my beautiful buckle. I'm going to get one before our trip... it's my armor! Thank you again, so much!

Your wind sister... again,
