I love listening to the sound of water moving trough a stream or small river. The soft whooshing and spattering noise is like music for the ears, and therapy for the tired soul. I'm always capturing pictures of this peaceful medicine...
LIQUID THERAPY
These were all taken during one of our rest stops while riding up in the Smokey Mountain National Park. One of my absolute favorite places on this earth!
Have a great week everybody!

PIC OF THE WEEK - ALABAMA RIVER
Looking back on my Spring riding pictures from last year, I couldn't help but notice how Harley and I would always gravitate toward water. In doing so, I've collected quite a few "dam" pictures! Alabama is blessed is rivers and lakes and we always found ourselves including them in our ride.
ALABAMA RIVER

We took the Jeep up around Lake Martin this past weekend and scoped out some campgrounds and talked about future purchases. We are torn between a camper or a boat. Hmmm... I'm really wondering how we can do both!
Now you know why we keep an active lottery ticket every week. We need to get lucky!
Have a great week everybody!

PIC OF THE WEEK - SMOKEY MOUNTAIN VIEW
Harley and I have been to the Smokey mountains many times on the Glides and it is one of our favorite places to visit. The coolness of the mountain air would embrace you as you rode along the twisty curvy asphalt and provide some of the most breathtaking scenery ever. I was perusing through some of our old trip photos and realized I was getting a renewed excitement to revisit these beautiful old mountains. Now that we have a Jeep, I'm ready to find some new "out of reach" places that need exploring.
SMOKEY MOUNTAIN VIEW
It only takes us about 3 to 4 hours to reach our Tennessee/North Carolina playground, and I realize it's up to us to tap into all that wilderness. We've been toying with the idea of a camping trailer, but a nice quiet cabin up the the Smokey Mountains sounds kind of nice too. Hmmmm... decisions, decisions. I know I'm not a fortune teller, but I see some mountainy explorations in our future.
Have a great week everybody!

PIC OF THE WEEK - LOOK BOTH WAYS
When Harley and I are out exploring little country roads we've never been on... we often cross over small rivers and creeks. Sometimes the bridges are large and impressive, and sometimes you might not even realize it's a bridge... till you look both ways.
The bridge...

Looking left...

And looking right...
This scene may not be as impressive as some as our other bridges and rivers, but with the Glides at rest, the quiet peacefulness of nature came over me while I stood there and listened...
It reminded me of why, while riding... I always look both ways.
Have nice week everybody!

PIC OF THE WEEK - LIFE'S A BEACH!!
LIFE'S A BEACH!!
It's summer time in the south, and about the only way to stay cool is to be in the water! While we were riding around Lake Guntersville State Park back during the 4th of July, we noticed a few campers and picnickers taking advantage of that very thing. Considering it was a holiday, it wasn't crowded at all, and it sure looked inviting. I should have joined them, but I was having too much fun already doing what I do... and that's ride the Glide!
Alabama is blessed beyond measure with great rivers and lakes, and we ride around them often. I plan to share some of them with you very soon. I just have to park the Glide long enough to type, but you know what they say... "Life's a beach"!!
Have a great Monday everybody!
