PIC OF THE WEEK - FLAGG MOUNTAIN

Harley and I went 'sploring again Saturday and took the Jeep up across Flagg Mountain in Coosa County. I know you western folks don't consider our little foothills mountains, but they're still fun to ride on and the views aren't too bad either.

Taking to the woods and driving on these dirt and gravel roads have been opening new doors of adventure for us and I can't say I haven't been having a good time doing it! Maybe it's just me, but even with 4 wheels under me, I'm still drawn to great road shots! Allow me...

We found a couple new shortcuts, or longcuts... depending on who you ask, and I look forward to the changing seasons from my new viewpoint up on Flagg Mountain. The peace and quiet will be compromised during hunting season, however, when the occasional gun shot pierces the air, and yet another Bambi bites the dust.

PIC OF THE WEEK - GETTING LOST

Once in a while, Harley and I set out with absolutely no idea where we want to ride to. When this happens, we just pick a direction...whether it be North, South, East or West and go from there. This way our options are always wide open and it leaves no room for disappointment. This past Saturday, we were having one of those nice meandering rides when we found ourselves somewhere northwest of Montgomery, in Coosa county.

GETTING LOST

This is the kind of road a rider can get lost on...
Lost is in their own thoughts, their own world, their own joy of the ride. If that's the case... are we really lost?

I'd say... not.

We had a great ride Saturday and logged around 250 miles as we found our way to Mitchell Dam at Lay Lake. I'm trying to pull together some nice post material of our beautiful roads that surround Alabama's rivers and lakes, so I can share them here with you. Exploring new county roads and practicing tight u-turns is a pretty accurate accounting of our weekend rides lately. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't enjoying the research!
