Saturday morning we headed north, knowing the fall foliage would be at it's peaking beauty around Mt. Cheaha State Park. Besides being the highest point in Alabama at 2407 feet, it's fun to ride on these twisty, hilly, playful roads... and the change of seasons makes going back a delightful treat!
FALL REFLECTIONS
Smooth lake water shines a reflective image of the colorful trees along these banks.
Harley took several great shots like this one, while riding down the road.
He's really quite good at it and I'll be putting together a slide show of other fantastic shots he got during our chilly Saturday ride.
The breathtaking views at the overlooks were stunning and could keep you staring at the horizon for hours.
Bald Rock on top of Mt. Cheaha State Park.
The weatherman promised a nice fall day with plenty of sunshine and temps in the upper 60's. A great day for riding! When we left the house at 9:30 a.m., it was 53 degrees and overcast! Brrrrrrr!
Have a great Monday everybody!

Great pictures Lady R.
Stunning scenery. God I love Fall riding!
I love the lake photo. Great pics.
wish i was there. looks like a blast of a weekend ladyR, great pics!!!
wonderful! I'm always so contented when I see the fall colors....even in Alabama! (Joke) LOL
How beautiful, I can almost feel the crisp autumn air!
We don't really get a season change here in FL, sure miss those hills and foliage. Maybe we'll see some on our way up to the rally. Y'all plan to come see us and if you happen to have too much fun there's room for y'all to stay. Hope to see ya this weekend.
The fall run is officially a priority now. Very nice picts and did you see the curves on that road. grrr...
Nice. Thanks for the bliss. My hobo runs have been far and few between recently...Dave is not a happy boy right now.
Fall riding is my favorite - at least it was when I lived in TN. The only way you can tell it's fall in South Florida is seeing Halloween decorations popping up everywhere (and the morning temps sometimes dip into the 70's brrr!). But alas, the moving van showed up today and soon I'll be motoring around NC with my better half who is already working there. Just need to find a job that pays at least as well as the one I have now - otherwise I may be here for a while...
Lovely pictures - thanks for sharing your day.
Thank you all for your lovely comments! Fall riding is just the best!
Darlin... Looking forward to coming over on Saturday to spend the day with ya! I'll be in touch!
Dave... not only did I SEE the curves on that road, I got to ride all over 'em! Muwahahaha! Wait till I post my slide show... or should I say Harley's slide show. He's my moving picture taker! I've got some road pictures that will make you weep!
Sorry... I don't mean to brag, but get your hobo ass on the road already!!
Kathy... good luck with the move, and I hope your following along very soon!
NC will be far better for riding than FL. Your in for a great treat! Look how close you'll be to the mountains!
You and Harley must have a great relationship (love). For a couple to be able to enjoy your week-ends as one. Wow! The good part is you are able to share that with all of us. We so enjoy these rides with you two. I know we all look forward to seeing the rides you take. We don't all have thay kind of option. Chessie too has some great story's. You and your Harley are two very lucky people. Keep that flame lit so we can also ride down the asphlt ribbon with you.
Webster... Thank you very much! Our weekends are pretty much our play time. Trying to find new and interesting stuff to share gets pretty challenging. We see the same scenery over and over, but I have to keep in mind... it's new to someone else.
I love the fact that we both ride. We really feel cheated if we don't get at least one full day to play, and the fact that we can still be together... makes playtime all the more fun!
Thanks again Webster... for the very sweet sentiment. I promise I'll do my part to keep the flame lit and the roads hot! ;)
I can see how finding new stuff could be hard. When we ride here we try to find one of those out of the way diners that has something special no one has ever heard of but the locals. Thats fun. Like the one thats known for their deep fried chicken gizzereds. Or the Amish one with REAL farm raised fried chicken. And the out of this world taco's in Owosso.
That fall reflections photo is pretty awesome!
Loved the last post, by the way.
Wow. Those pics look like they could've been taken anywhere around here. 53 degrees and chaps? Wow. What are you gonna do when it gets cold girl??
Webster... Harley L-O-V-E-S chicken gizzards. Ya'll can have 'em!! LOL!
Irondad... Thank you. Not as good as your recent photo endeavors. I'm sorry I haven't been leaving comments, but I've been by. Before you know it, you'll be trading in the Instructors cap for a Studio! LOL!
Joker... When it becomes impossible to reach your grips because the layers wont let you bend your elbows... it's time to stay home. LOL! I can handle cold, as long as it's not raining at the same time. Yuck!!
