CRUISIN' ROUND MOUNDVILLE
Harley and I took a nice little ride up to the Moundville Archaeological Park which lies on the banks of the Black Warrior River in Central Alabama. This really cool park is rich with history and includes a Museum, Camping and Picnic areas. It would be a great place to hold reunions and family gatherings and I plan to post a little more about our visit here another time.
While I was climbing a very large and steep set of stairs to get to the top of one of the mounds, Harley took the opportunity to cruise around the park while he waited for me to get through taking pictures. The view was great!
Have a nice Monday everyone!

What a great pic! I haven't seen green like that in a long time!
Your pics of the week never fail to please my eyes. Looking forward to seeing and hearing more about this place.
Ann - LOL! That's because you have to live in a state where there's grass!
ooooooh ahhhhhh pretty....
Wow! I just want to roll around in that grass!
I love grass, and roads, and curves and bikes...so this picture is perfect. Almost too perfect.
Awesome picture. Thanks!
One excellent shot..so peaceful !
I'm with Dave. It's too perfect, almost looks fake. You just don't see the grass that green and the perfect curves of the road. Looks like someone colored it in a coloring book. Awesome!
ooohh! curves - how I miss even the tiniest twisties. This looks like a wonderful place to ride. Great pic.
Puts me in mind of the hill to the monument for the Wright Brothers in Kitty Hawk...inspiring for sure!
Ann... We've been getting so much rain for the last couple weeks, everything around here is green and growing! Plus they must have cut it recently because it smelled like fresh cut grass. Ahhhh.
Dean... I have more pics to post of our Moundville ride. In fact, this pic won out over another cool shot that shows the stairs leading up one of the mounds. While plodding to the top, I kept waiting for a sacrificial Indian head to come rolling and bouncing down those stairs. Yikes!
mqo1... Another good place to ride to when your here. LOL! ;)
B.B... see my note to Ann... it also smelled good! I had the same thought when I rode around the park. Actually, I imagined my house on one of those mounds, (you'll see them in the other pics when I post the story about it) but I probably don't have enough "chiefdom" in my blood.
Dave... I was on top of the biggest mound when I got this shot of Harley coming around the park. I just wish we could've opened 'em up a little bit around them curves. That would have been really cool!
Baron... thank you! I burned a few calories getting this pic. LOL!
Mrs. RC... I can tell you for a fact, this one hasn't been photo chopped! I climbed the cardiac stairs myself to get it! Whew! The grass is so green cause of all the rain we've been getting.
BTW... the curves were perfect, but you can only have so much fun on them at 25 mph. (Park speed limit) LOL!
Kathy... I feel your plight. Every time I ride in PC with my riding pals, the Florida roads are just not very challenging (except for the sand) for motorcycle fun. However, this does allow to you to look around and gaze at the scenery. LOL!
Chessie... This place could inspire me to lay back and relax in the cool grass and watch the clouds pass by. Ahhh.
Very nice! Thanks
The view was great! What a great pic and hope to hear about this place soon.
That almost looks like a place you might have to dodge golf balls.
masterchief... Your very welcome! ;]
KT... I plan to post about it after I get back from Iowa. I have more to share about this place.
Willy D... Your right... that's about the only other place I can think of that has as much nicely cut green grass.... a golf course. Luckily, there were no flying balls. Although... it would be cool to have a tee off right on top of one of the mounds. Might help on your distance shot. LOL!
Dean: We do have grass...it's just brown most of the year. :)
Very pretty. It looks spectacular!
