PIC OF THE WEEK - AN EAGLE'S VIEW

AN EAGLE'S VIEW - THE TENNESSEE RIVER
While Harley and I were riding up around Lookout Mountain a few weeks ago, we took advantage of some shade and the chance to stretch our legs while we walked around the grounds at Point Park. This historic park sits high on the bluffs overlooking the city of Chattanooga and the Tennessee River.

From this vantage point, you can see what an awesome view you have. While I stood there and gazed down, trying to locate and recognize places I knew were there (it's a little game I like to play... "and there's the aquarium"), I noticed a large beautiful eagle soaring through the air around and near the bluffs where we were standing.

I was lucky enough to capture this impressive bird and all I could think of was... What a nice view he must have!

Have a great Monday everybody!

So are you home yet or still out on the road? Send me an email if you come back by here, I'd love to meet you out there on the road. It's been hot, hasn't it. My bike has been sitting idle since my daughter has been off school but she starts Band Camp today so I'm firing the Iron up! My email is on my blog.

Awesome pics! Looks like the view that I had this last weekend atop a bluff overlooking the Mississippi River.

Unfortunately the only big birds around here are seagulls. And you don’t really want them above you, if you get my meaning.

Webster... A TURKEY VULTURE?? Are you kidding? LOL! (My bubble's been popped.) Oh well... my flying feathered friend was enjoying a beautiful view, and I was happy to be sharing it with him. :)

AZD... Three days in... my hair didn't fall out, my teeth are still intact, and I can walk without a cane. Life if good!! LOL!

Eve... we were in your hood during the 4th. From Wed till Sun. we rode all around your area and I've got some more great posts coming! We'll be back that way again... we love the mountains and lakes. Makes for GREAT riding!! Maybe next time! I'll let you know when we come back.

Dean... My ol' friend, the Mississippi. I sure miss seeing that river daily. I like looking out over high bluffs and watching the happenings below. We used to go to Eagle Point Park (back home) and watch the barges come and go from the lock and dam, right below the park. (sigh... now I'm homesick!)

Willy... Seagulls are pretty... when they're flying away from you! Having been bombed by one in the past... I know what you mean! LOL!

Eagle Point Park...gorgeous place. Been there a few times myself.

I was a little further north last weekend- just across the river from Lansing, IA.

Vultures have their own beauty. They do. Like some rustic old man that had to hard labor to keep his family going. There is a beauty in him. That old vulture works hard at keeping our land cleaned. And when they soar, think of all that freedom they have. Just don't get near them nothing no nothing smells worse than one of those basturds:)
