WHAT'S FOR LUNCH? HOW ABOUT A QUICKIE?!

Here's a new feature I'm considering adding to my blog on a somewhat regular basis. I can't promise how often you'll see it, but this will be the experimental post. Sometimes, there is something that I'd like to share, but it may not be a nice long ride complete with pics, or must see location. There are times I just want to share a nice experience concerning motorcycles. Look for future editions of...

DEAR DIARY... A glimpse into the pages of a journal written by a woman rider.

January 27, 2009
Dear Diary,
Today ended up being a pretty good day. I was having a hard time concentrating at work this morning because I kept hearing the inviting rumble of motorcycles passing by my office. The sun was finally making an appearance again, after remaining absent for a few days, and the temp was warming up nicely. I must have looked out the window a thousand times before lunch, wishing that it was I, running up and down the road.

On my way home for lunch, I took note at how warm it had gotten by this time. It was 77 degrees! I nice break from the overcast, rainy, 30 to 40 degrees we've been having. I crossed paths with two separate riders and they both had big smiles on their faces. That did it! I called H on my cell phone and said, "Can you think of a good reason why I shouldn't take my bike back to work this afternoon?" His response was, "Ahh, no?" I confirmed with him, that after I have my lunch, I'm taking the Glide back to work.

I ate my sandwich with a renewed attitude, checked in on some blogs, and got ready to go back. When I went into the garage, my ol' girl saw me coming with my jacket and chaps on, and I swear, she blinked her headlights at me, just like her four wheeled cousin, Herbie the Love Bug.

On my way back to work, I could feel myself re-energizing in the warm breeze with the sun on my face, and wished I could bypass the office and hit the closest highway and just keep going. I didn't, but it was the best 12 minutes I've had all day!

I took on my afternoon work duties in a better frame of mind, cause I knew what awaited me at the end of the day. Somehow, I managed to find two errands to run after work, just so I could stretch out my short commute for a little while longer. The last few times we've ridden, it's been cold or rainy, and to feel the warm air again made me long for Spring to hurry up and get here.

Tomorrow we're suppose to get another cold front from the north, so it will be back to chilling temps for us thin blooded southerners. Oh well, at least I got to enjoy a little taste of sunshine today. There's nothing better than an afternoon quickie!

That's great! I always find it easier to work when I know we're going out that night on the bike. I wish I was already riding my own!

Dear Me, Sorry about the north sending the cold front down south. We here do not benefit from a northern front gone south. We would however warmly benefit from y'all sending a warm front north as soon as possible. It would truly be appreciated from Iowa, Minn, Mi and that other state somewhere east of Mi. where some joker lives. It is great however that you did have an enjoyable afternoon running errands. And do look forward to future post on said subjects. By the way we are having a warm front it is 10 above this am:)

That's great! I'm always in the mood for a quickie!

Since Dean said exactly what I was going to say, that only leaves me with, "I'm JEALOUS!!"

I was down the shop yesterday, having driven through the tail-end of a snow storm to get there. When I walked out back and saw my Springer sitting there all dressed and ready to go I was tingling. She didn't blink her lights at me, until I sat on her and the security system set her to wig-wagging. That was a good enough greeting for me though!

I was there getting measured for highway pegs, lol. After that, all I could do is stare out the window on the overhead door at the freezing rain coming down and turning the snow into half-frozen slop. There'd be no quickie for me! Glad you enjoyed yours though. Just the thought of it made me feel better.

I don't have a bike yet, but when my softtail comes home for lunch, I will definately mount her for a quickie, but i won't share my journal entry after...sorry

I think that's a great addition. I enjoyed reading it!

Mr. Lady R: OK I know I left a response to your weekned trip but dang if it didn't post and I didn't know it until now. You would think I don't even know how to turn a PC on let alone make a simple response to a blog or something!!!

I like the new feature. Now you know why I ride to work everyday and have been known to go home for a quicke at lunch time too.

Bill Clinton stops for lunch at a small diner. When the waitress asks him what he wants for lunch he tells the waitress that he will have the "quickie". She slaps him and asks him to leave.

One of the Secret Service men leans towards Clinton and says,

"Mr. President, that's pronounced "keesh".

Funny how we all say we're in love with riding because it's so "sensual". Yet, we all sound like a bunch of perverts to me!

If I spend an entire day at the office, and I drive my car in in the morning if it's cold, that is my most favorite way to spend my lunchtime. Drive the car home, and go get the bike. Makes they day worth waking up for. Even if you had to work.

P.S. I liked the diary style.

Biker forums? I got a boner reading that.

I can totally relate to this. My favorite time of the day is when I ride to work and leave work on my bike. It's always the best time of the day...well, almost, I also look forward to riding the Bbster.

Sounds like a much better time of the day than when I had to evacuate the school building because some yo-yo pulled the fire alarm at a quarter to 9 this morning. What I wouldn't have given to trade half an hour of standing in the sub-freezing temperatures while the fire dept searched the building for 12 miles in the saddle at 77 degrees! I am totally jealous.

Ann... I'm always looking forward to a ride. Whether it's for 10 minutes or 10 days.

Webster... I wish I could send some warm air up your way too. How nice would that be to have a nice 77 degree day. Today (Friday AM) it's 31 degrees. We have winters like that. A roller coaster of temperatures.

Dean... Yeah! Who wouldn't be? I hated to see in the news, all the storms that are happening up there and to the east. BRRRR! How many days till Spring?

Joker...I feel for ya! I got cold just watching the storm coverage on the news. When I was a kid, I would love snow storms like this so we could have more snow days out of school. But, I was just a kid, what did I know. It's terrible when it causes everyone to loose power and halts everything in general.

Don't worry friend, I'll be glad to share my afternoon quickies with ya'll for a while. LOL! Spring will be here soon. Ask Dean, he's counting the days!

Masterchief... Didn't your Mama teach you how to share? What gives? LOL! Have a nice lunch!

B.B... Thanks. I liked this edition too. I think you'll see more of it.

Fasthair... Your brain is probably frozen and all your thoughts are stalled. You need to reboot! Glad you liked the post. It was short and sweet and easy to prepare. :)

Irondad... Funny! Your right. Although, everyone may not be "sensual" about their riding, we are a bunch of pervs! LOL!

Mr. M... Thanks! I liked the diary style too. I can post a short thought a lot quicker than posting about a nice ride with pics. Hopefully, it will become a permanent feature to my blog.

Dave... I never thought of myself as B.B.'s warm up act. But, glad I could help. LOL!

Mrs. RC... that yo-yo probably had a test that morning!
