BEAUTY AND THE BEASTS

Saturday found us riding up around Sylacauga so we could visit with Harley's mom and take her out to lunch. She enjoys the outing and we never get bored riding up on one of our favorite highways, CR 29 in Coosa County (we figured in this case the CR really stands for... curvy road!).

Right outside her apartment sits this very pretty tree (I think it's a Yoshino Flowering Cherry Tree) and it served as a pretty spring backdrop to our beastly rides.

BEAUTY AND THE BEASTS
Spring is popping out everywhere you look, so every time we stopped to stretch, I had my camera in my hands. I tried to think outside the box and capture the beauty of Mother Nature by playing with different camera settings, so bear with me as I share my experiments with you.

We had a wonderful ride in spite of having to zigzag our way home to split a couple terrible storms. Harley is great at watching the sky, so we made it successfully without getting a single drop on us! I put several miles on the 'ol girl this weekend... and it sure does feel good!

Have a great week everybody!

One of the reasons I love riding a motorcycle is how aware I am of the beauty of nature and the smells of the flowers and fresh cut grass.

Great pics.

Glad y'all had a great day of riding

AZD... Thank you! Spring is one of my favorite times of the year. I love shaking of the winter by watching Mother Nature paint her landscape once again with lots of color. I'm fortunate to have some very lovely roads to ride on.

Allen... Talk about smells... Saturday was awesome! I caught myself thinking how smelly (in a good way!) everything was. I smelled rain, freshly mowed hay, cows, a pasture of clover, a bad sewer... The list goes on and on. There's no doubt, my olfactory sense got a great work out.

Eve... When we stopped at Hatchet Creek, we saw hail all around on the ground. At first we thought someone dumped out a cooler, but then we noticed the "small ice" across the road and all over. We knew we were following one storm and chasing the other. Harley kept us positioned right in between them. We were very fortunate.

AZD... errr. Your a teacher and all... so what I meant to say was... "shaking off the winter." Just sayin'...

Eve... errr. That was supposed to be... "following one storm and being chased by another."

Maybe I need some stronger coffee this morning! lol!

Beautiful photos. I especially like the first one with the bikes in front of the cherry tree. The itch for spring riding is getting pretty strong here, but with temperatures still below freezing and ice stil on some roads(!)we're some days away yet.

Lady R:

You can't fool mother nature. If the flowers are blooming then Spring is near. We're jealous that you got to see it first. We still have about a month to go, in the meantime we get to see more rain.
