PIC OF THE WEEK - SUNSET ON SUMMER

Today is Labor Day. Not only does it give us an extra day off... for me it marks the end of summer.

Labor Day was always the holiday that meant school was back in session, football starts, and your days are definitely shorter.  While playing around the mountains this summer, I took a couple of pics during the sunset hour and I think this one reflects my mood perfectly.  It's time to say goodnight to long, sunny days and sizzling hot temperatures.  It's time to enjoy the sunset on summer.

Don't be sad.  Just because summer is over doesn't mean it's time to park your bike. In fact... when you live in the south, autumn and winter are the best times to ride!

Have a great week everybody and... HAPPY LABOR DAY!

Who would want to end the motorcycle season prematurely? As long as the white stuff stays away I am riding.
Happy Labour Day!

Great picture Lady R. I like the colors of the mountains and how the seat seems to glow with the fading sun.

No white stuff here! Every once in a while, we'll get a little dose of snow, but it's always gone within hours.

Southern temps aren't all bad, being able to ride all year long is a great trade.

The bikes run so much better in the fall.

Lady Di:

can I move in with you ? I like the idea of year round riding, and don't like the snow and ice so much.

Summer's not over until the Fall equinox with is still nearly 3 weeks away, then we still have another couple of months before it goes down to freezing.

You're making like it is all over !

Boskoot,

I'm not rushing anything... our temps are still hitting the 90's everyday so the only thing telling me summer is over, is the calendar.

Someone asked us once, how we winterize our bikes. I responded... "we ride them!"

Not having to put the bike up during the Fall and Winter is the best part of living in the south.

Oh, btw... If you came to live with us, would you do all the cooking? lol!

Well, even without looking at pictures, I’d be able to hazard a guess that you had a great time riding up the mountains! That’s an awesome way to enjoy the last day of summer! Offroading, racing on your motorcycle, and going on long road trips are definitely some great activities, whatever the season. Throw in some great company, and you’ve got the potential to make some pretty awesome memories!
