To date, the few times I've ridden the Boy was to test ride, to the Probate office, and straight to the Harley shop to order some parts. While there, I had my trusty wrencher take a look at him, and he thought it was in my best interest to replace my front tire before I rode it too much. He confirmed my fears... too many cracks from dry rot evident to deem it safe. I knew this bike had been sitting up for awhile, so he's going in today for some new rubber, and an oil change. I guess I'm going to have to wait until Saturday before I can put some significant miles on him.
That hasn't keep me from grooming him though!!

I had my service just recently done at the H-D shop. There they wash the bike for you ;-)

Ride safe and can not wait to see your style on him. I love taken a bike and making it my own with just a few tweeks here and there. Small details to some big difference to me.
Bitchy... I got my engine guards in yesterday and put them on. Saddlebags went on too. He's really looking good. I'm ready to enjoy a nice long ride this Saturday to finish getting to know him. I've been referring to him as "The Boy". Sounds kinky, don't it?
Oh wow, I'm really happy for you. I guess the truth is out now. We see from the post that you like dirty boys with some grit, then all you ladies begin changing things right off the bat. LOL . I'm ribbing you. Hmmm, what sort of parts are you shedding away with? Hmmm.
Wooley... Old rusty mustache highway bars, old faded gas tank trim, passenger pegs (God's my only passenger, and he don't need pegs!) a rusty gas cap, and some hardware that just rusted from sitting under a carport. And a seat... the old seat looked like a cat used it for a scratch pad. :/

I've got him almost "changed" enough to suit me. The last thing I need to get done is have the windshield cut down. I have a guy that's going to do that for me, it's just a matter of getting together with enough time to do it.
Finding "the boy" was like finding a dirty ol' penny, but he's shinning up reeeeeaaaaal nice.
I can wait to spend all day with him Saturday. Better get your umbrella out... it's gonna be raining on the highway. lol!
Rain is just another name for adventure on a new bike. I bet the weekend ride was a welcome blast.
