PIC OF THE WEEK - GETTING LOST

Once in a while, Harley and I set out with absolutely no idea where we want to ride to. When this happens, we just pick a direction...whether it be North, South, East or West and go from there. This way our options are always wide open and it leaves no room for disappointment. This past Saturday, we were having one of those nice meandering rides when we found ourselves somewhere northwest of Montgomery, in Coosa county.

GETTING LOST

This is the kind of road a rider can get lost on...
Lost is in their own thoughts, their own world, their own joy of the ride. If that's the case... are we really lost?

I'd say... not.

We had a great ride Saturday and logged around 250 miles as we found our way to Mitchell Dam at Lay Lake. I'm trying to pull together some nice post material of our beautiful roads that surround Alabama's rivers and lakes, so I can share them here with you. Exploring new county roads and practicing tight u-turns is a pretty accurate accounting of our weekend rides lately. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't enjoying the research!

In the mean time, have a great week everybody and ride on!

Nope, not lost at all Lady R. Reminds me we should be out riding and we will be if it ever dropps below 105 out here.

It rained here all weekend. Your days appear warmer and dryer for sure. I don't know of a better way to spend the days...lost on my bike as I meander and squander the day away with grins and my "Lil Girl" leading the way.

Lay Lake? I remember that name. If I ever get there I hope they have tee’s that say ‘I Got Laid At Lay Lake”. It’s a must.

Pictures like these make the road butterflies come alive in the pit of ones stomach. Know what I mean.

AZD... our weather man is promising cooler temps for the weekend. Finally! And even though I hate to say it... we need rain really bad.

Chessie... dry for sure. It's starting to look a little like fall here, but it's because everything is dying!

Dave... Sometimes I sit here and try to figure out... "what do they want to see?" I'm getting into a place where I'm losing focus, so I wanted to get back to where it all starts... the road. Don't worry... more to come.

B.B. Imagine riding down this road and blowing all your troubles away.

Willy... I might have to see if I can find one of those... just for you!

Wooley... I appreciate your comment. Sometimes, I think the simplest road shot is so satisfying and it does provoke thought... thoughts of riding!

Always the best rides to no where. On one we found an old Indian grave site. Must have been lost. Went back many times and can not find it.
