PIC OF THE WEEK - MUSIC LESSONS

Riding around in the old South, your bound to see some really old stuff. Old barns and buildings, rich with history, stand along the roads with their decrepit facades and wild landscape. They seem to be everywhere as you ride and they have always held a fascination for me. I like to imagine what life might have been like, back in the old days.

NOTASULGA, AL
Located on Hwy. 14 in Notasulga, AL, these old relics still stand proud, right on the highway's edge as if to say... "we're still standing!" While enjoying my stretch break, I notice something very peculiar in the window of this old and historic building.

MUSIC LESSONS
It's nice to think that the lovely community of Notasulga, AL was actually putting the old structures to good use. I wonder if the students of the music class play for the Barn Dance! LOL!

Me personally... I think it would make a great Haunted House, but then again... I don't need music lessons either.

Just another peek at my world. Hope you all are getting ready for Christmas... time is ticking!

Have a great week everybody!

I'm envious of your weather...we have a temp of 7 degrees today. It will be well below 0 overnight. Yesterday we had high winds causing white out conditions.

GR:

our temps are okay but we have torrential rains. Flooding everywhere and mud slides.

I love your backroads photos, too bad we don't have many of those up here

I would love to get my hands on a building like that and renovate it back to the original. I'm with you... I like to imagine and think about the times past. Its almost a romance.

Biker Baby... We're having it colder than usual ourselves. Yesterday got up to 35 degrees, but the wind cut right through ya like a knife! Thin blooded southerners aren't used to that arctic blast! LOL!

Bobskoot... I don't know what I'd do without all our back roads. When I read other blogs of riders in big city areas, and they talk about having to ride 50 miles or better just to get to some quieter roads... I feel for them. That would be a very big source of frustration for me. I can go 10 miles in almost any direction (only 2 if I go north!) and I'm out of the city. Country roads are everywhere, there for the riding... and we ride all we can! :)

KT...You could make that ol' charm shine again! One of these days, you need to let me play tour guide for ya! It would be so awesome!
BTW... I finally got over to your photo blog. YOU ARE AMAZING!! Love your work! You can be very proud! Take care friend!

I need to ride the southlands. I have never been...at least on the bike anyway.

Nostalgia is a good thing. It helps keep things in perspective.

Dave... Notasulga is full of nostalgia! All two blocks of it! LOL!

I keep telling you... it would be awesome to show you around our beautiful state. I might even be able to find a covered bridge you can fly through! Woo Hoo!! (we might have to create a diversion for ya, but we could handle it!)

Love these post. Just got back from Marrianna and spent half our time in Bama. Dothan area has that old around it too. Hell the whole south does. We only have very few buildings like that left. The ice and snow yea know.

That's the problem with vehicles also. They rust out before they wear out.
Hope you had a nice visit while you where there. Obviously, you took the cold home with you... yesterday it popped up to 50 or better after a week of freezing temps and wind. Brrrrr.
