We had a very active childhood and I relish in my memories of my brothers and I growing up in Iowa. I think my parents did a fine job on us.

I'm glad I was able to help rekindle some childhood memories of your own.Lady R (Di)https://www.blogger.com/profile/08253802136989789026noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1058662679644806189.post-13243293678104054152008-05-26T08:24:00.000-05:002008-05-26T08:24:00.000-05:00LadyR do you think all of your blogging family cou...LadyR do you think all of your blogging family could slip in at the next picnic? He was particularly proud of his Barbecue/Cooker. He built it out of lava rocks and mortar. It's still there after 35 years and still being used by the family. If we were lucky, he would give us a ride on the tractor or tow us around on the hay wagon. I miss him. He was a great man and larger than life.

Thanks for sharing.FLHX_Davehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17453169653430889773noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1058662679644806189.post-44534937258138092462008-05-24T12:04:00.000-05:002008-05-24T12:04:00.000-05:00Great post! The summer after Desert Storm, our town had a huge 4th of July parade and I got to ride in the back of the duce & half my dad was driving. I was so proud and honored to be a part of that. Like you, I grew up in a very patriotic family, and I'm so thankful that I did.B.B.https://www.blogger.com/profile/00598057523770603981noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1058662679644806189.post-41498936708184986472008-05-24T08:45:00.000-05:002008-05-24T08:45:00.000-05:00Very cool memories.
